Consulting Case Competition, KPMG
September, 2023
Making it to the finals two years in a row, Newish looks forward to KPMG Australia’s annual Consulting Case Competition each year.
The 2023 team, consisted of Ella, Chunkit, Melody, and Leo. They undertook the challenge of crafting a compelling commercialisation strategy for Raytracer, an AI and Space startup. This involved leveraging recent achievements, partnerships, and technological advancements to foster the organisation’s expansion.
This competition provided a valuable learning experience, enabling the team to apply the skills gained from their time at Newish. Maneuvering through the competition intricacies deepened their comprehension of the interplay between theory and application, contributing to both professional and personal development. The journey underscored the importance of genuine learning outside traditional classrooms and gave them a taste of real-world strategy formulation.
Big Idea Competition, International Advertising Association (IAA)
November, 2023
Last year, the 2023 Newish team embarked for the second time on a visit to Sydney, to compete in the finals for the prestigious annual Big Ideas Marketing Competition hosted by IAA.
Comprising a dynamic ensemble including ChunKit, Shakira, Alissa, Melody, and Leo, the team took on the challenge of crafting a top-to-tail marketing campaign for Youi, a prominent lifestyle insurance brand. The objective was to redefine the landscape of customized insurance and resonate with the hearts of growing families across Australia. The experience proved to be more than just a competition, it unfolded as an extraordinary learning opportunity for the team. Each team member had the chance to apply and refine their skills in real-world scenarios.
Beyond the strategic aspect, the competition also provided a platform to expand professional networks, fostering connections within the marketing and advertising industry. The exposure to diverse perspectives and industry insights further enriched the team’s collective knowledge, emphasizing the practical aspects of marketing beyond the theoretical realm. The Newish team reflects on this Sydney adventure as a transformative chapter that not only honed their marketing acumen but also broadened their horizons in the ever-evolving landscape of strategic brand promotion.
